From Borrowed & Blue: “Weddings are all about the couple, and resources galore are dedicated to all things bride or groom. But what about the guests? They also have to find the perfect outfit and entertain themselves for a weekend in between wedding festivities (in a sometimes unfamiliar city). That’s why we are coming to LaQuin Taylor, owner of ëmagine, for the insider scoop on how to navigate Birmingham weddings with style.

DËSIGN: CRAFT HOUR

Designing the perfect Craft Night was so much fun.

I was inspired by the bold black and white striped design of the  Zoës Kitchen Girls Night In Party Pack printables by The Tomkat Studio!

A few sheets of striped craft paper from Paper Source was perfect for creating envelope liners for my invitations!

Guest signed in to receive future #withlaquin event updates and the chalkboard name tags were a hit!

Crafters created acrylic trays from photo frames and adornments such as chevron fabric, glitter scrapbook paper and foil dots!

Blogger Madison Miles of Keeping the Creative styled her finished cork board tray on the spot with props from her handbag! I received these beautiful Art Deco earrings from local artist Casey Williamson as a hostess gift!

Attendees received a swag bag of goodies featuring Naughty but Nice Kettle Corn! Want to check out the other goodies included in the swag? Follow me on Periscope {canuemagine} for my upcoming Trash Bag or Swag Bag chat! I'll talk about curating a good swag bag and how to make your swag bag interactive!

DËSIGN: ZOËS KITCHEN PARTY PACK {sponsored post}

When Zoës Kitchen reached out to me to try their new catering Party Pack, I could not turn them down!

Zoës Kitchen is amazing; their Mediterranean inspired cuisine is always fresh and flavorful!

In conjunction with The TomKat Studio, Zoës is now offering a variety of themed catering packages. From a Holiday Soiree to a Girls Night In and even a Game Day theme, Zoës is taking the work out of entertaining.

THE RËVIEW: DEPALMA'S

When it comes to Depalma's Italian Cafe, I am biased. Just wanted to get that out of the way before I begin this review.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant and I cannot figure out how after living in Tuscaloosa for almost 5 years, I did not partake in the luxury of DePalma's Italian Cafe until after I had moved away.

FOODIË: NO CHURN ICEBOX COFFEE CRUNCH ICE CREAM

The heat is on! Sweltering heat keeps me looking for a refreshing treat! So when the Birmingham Bloggers posted a recipe contest using Icebox Coffee, not only was  I super excited to try out a new product but a new food trend as well! No churn Ice cream!

THE RËVIEW: BIG BAD BREAKFAST

Breakfast in the south is just as big as dinner and Big Bad Breakfast is as southern as it gets!

BIG BAD BLT w/home fries
SERVICE/AMBIANCE: The cold case of fresh stuffed sausage and thick cuts of bacon is definitely  the centerpiece of this jewel!  With several seating options for large and small groups as well as patio seating, you'll want to bring all of your friends and family with you!  Our waiter for the day was super helpful and very familiar with the menu. He even suggested some of his favorites!

FOODIË: ZOËS KITCHEN

ORDER UP:Spinach Roll-Ups with Chicken and Pasta Salad

20 Years of Goodness! One of my favorite restaurants is celebrating 20 years in a way only an awesome restaurant can, giving back to the city where they started it all!

THE RËVIEW: BYOB ROCKS

THE RËVIEW: LITTLE ITALY'S PIES AND PINTS

It's always super exciting to discover new restaurants in the area and my inpromtu visit to the recently opened Little Italy's Pies and Pints in Five Points South was highly anticipated! Owned and operated by a father-daughter team with previous stakes in the Helena Little Italy's Pizza location, this pizza spot is among great company in a city that seems to be obsessed with handcrafted pies.

MOZZARELLA STICKS

THE RËVIEW: EATING NOLA

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to tag along with a friend to NOLA!  Sure New Orleans is fun and history rich but who are we kidding, the most important  thing about NOLA is the AWESOME FOOD!

Before I packed my bags, I reached out to a couple of my food savvy friends and here's a glimpse of my attempt to eat my way through NOLA!

FOODIE DAY 1: I grabbed breakfast at the hotel  and mapped out my first food stop. I knew I wanted to find some good catfish and after making my way to Magazine Street I ended up at Joey K's for lunch!

I tried out the All U Can Eat Catfish. The plate was accompanied by a side salad and a couple of slices of toasted white bread could be found buried under an overflowing plate of freshly fried french fries and catfish

VERDICT: Joey K's staff was an attentive bunch and managed the busy spot well!

My food came out pretty quickly. The salad was super fresh and the fries were tasty. The buried toast was hard and I would have preferred a hush puppy alternative.

THANK YOU!
