FOODIE: YARD SALE

How lucky am I that Southern Living is located right here in my city! Southern Living, Costal Living, Cooking Light, MyRecipes.com and Oxmoor House decided to open their annual "Prop Sale" to the public by creating the first ever Foodie Yard Sale. I was so super duper excited about this sale and once I saw the media marketing for the sale I just knew I had to go! They advertised pots, gadgets, cookbooks etc. all boasting prices  as low as 2 bucks for cookbooks and 50 cents for utensils/gadgets. All proceeds from the sales  benefited The Greater Birmingham Ministries to buy fresh veggies for their food pantries!

I LOVE MARTHA and this book, Martha's Entertaining: A Year of Celebrations, couldn't have been a better gift to receive! If you forced me to pick my favorite celebration, and if you know my love for miniatures, then you already knew that I was absolutely in love with the miniature menu that was created  for the Easter Egg Hunt on Martha's Bedford farm!

I've been spending a lot of time in my kitchen lately and I was so excited to receive this amazing cook book! Frank Stitt's Southern Table. One of my favorite summer foods is fresh fried okra and I can't wait to try out Mr. Stitt's recipe!
