FOODIË: CHICKEN & GARLIC NAAN PIZZA

Short work weeks tend to be super busy and with the quickly approaching holiday, pop up guest and  gatherings are plentiful.  While the Chicken & Garlic Naan Pizza sounds and tastes complex, it's super simple to make, customizable to your taste and a great way to use what's already stashed in your fridge!

INGREDIENTS: GARLIC NAAN. CLASSICO PESTO. CLASSICO PIZZA SAUCE. SAUTÉED RED ONIONS. FRESH SPINACH. BLACK OLIVES. ROASTED TOMATOES. CHICKEN BREAST STRIPS. MOZZARELLA CHEESE BLEND. OREGANO. BLACK PEPPER.

SPREAD : A couple of tablespoons of pesto and pizza sauce on your naan.

The base for this dish is Naan, an oven baked flatbread. There are several recipes out there to make your own naan but there are some store brands that are just as good! For this recipe I used the Garlic Naan by Stonefire. The package contains 2 pieces of flatbread so you can easily make two different pizzas quickly! The naan already has tons of flavor and a moist texture so you won't need to drown it in sauce.

ADD: The toppings of your choice
I prepped a couple of toppings for my pizza ahead of time but raw veggies work well too!

I'm currently obsessed with roasting tomatoes with a little olive oil and oregano. They are a great way to get that tomato punch without adding tons of sodium from pre packaged sauces. Sautéed chicken breast strips are a staple in my fridge but store bought rotisserie chicken is a flavorful alternative. For the vegans and vegetarians, tofu or meaty veggies like eggplant make a great substitute!

TOP IT: Give your pizza a generous sprinkle of Mozzarella Cheese, oregano and crushed black pepper.

Bake your Naan Pizza until the cheese begins to melt (8-10 min).
Remove it from the oven and it's time to eat! Caution! The pizza will smell amazing but I advise you let it cool for a few minutes! Be careful not to burn your tongue!
