Chicken Wings are my absolute favorite comfort food! I can eat them for lunch, dinner and of course breakfast! I'm always looking for a yummy variation and I've added these Tomatillo Wings to my flavor profile!
INGREDIENTS: 2 LBS CHICKEN WINGETTES. 1 TSP ONION POWDER. 1 TSP GARLIC POWDER. 1 TSP SMOKED PAPRIKA. 1 CUP TOMATILLO SALSA
SEASON: With garlic powder and onion powder
PREFERENCE: I love flats but it's totally fine to use all drums or a mixture!
ADD: Smoked paprika
TOSS: Coat wings in seasonings
ADD: Tomatillo Salsa (also known as Salsa Verde)
To control the flavor, I like to make my own salsa. There are tons of easy recipes for salsa verde on the web. I get a little heavy handed with the lime juice to get a really strong citrus flavor! If you like it spicy substitute a higher heat level pepper!
MARINATE: Let your wings chill in the fridge overnight or for at least 3 hours.
ROAST: Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and line your wings up!
PREHEAT: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Bake your wings for 10 minutes then switch your broiler to HIGH. Broil until your wings begin to crisp. Flip your wings over and allow wings to crisp on the opposite side.
Try pairing your wings with a creamy dipping sauce !
